Dr. Oz Interview of Sandy Hook Elementary student. The host discloses that the kids told him beforehand what they wanted him to ask, in order to avoid traumatic questioning and – I would surmise – would permit the kids to be thoroughly prepared and confident of their answer. Sounds as if he tells him they were having a DRILL. You be the judge.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Tuesday said he has scheduled an initial vote for Thursday on a controversial gun control bill that is in reaction to December’s massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.

Reid, however, said he does not know if he will be able to attract the 60 votes necessary to overcome procedural hurdles from senators opposed to gun control.

In the meantime, some senators are trying to reach a bipartisan compromise on background checks for gun buyers, which could help build support for the measure.

Connecticut will soon follow New York and impose unconstitutional restraints on the Second Amendment.

In addition to reaching an agreement to outlaw “high-capacity magazines” in the future, lawmakers have agreed to create a so-called “eligibility certificate” for residents legally practicing their right to own a firearm. Gun owners will be required to submit fingerprints to the state and take a mandatory firearms training course. A universal background check will also be required under the law.

On March 14, Connecticut resident Mark Steed delivered an articulate response to the state legislature’s plan to roll back the Second Amendment.

“This is the third day I’ve taken off of work to come here to, like so many of the rest of us, to plead with you for us to keep our guns because of some wing-nut in Newtown, Connecticut,” the Vernon, Connecticut, resident said. “If that isn’t inherently wrong, I don’t know what is. That these bills are even in proposed form is scary enough. That any of you could possibly be undecided is scary enough. What are you looking at?”

Town Clerk is seeking to deny newspapers from viewing public record death certificates of Sandy Hook victims, according to the Newtown Bee.

The Clerk maintains that access t

o vital records such as death and marriage certificates should be limited to immediate family members or their representatives, and has undertaken to change present law.

The New York Post, the Connecticut Post, the Associated Press, the Hartford Courant, and other media have put forth requests for official death certificates of Sandy Hook victims, the Newton Bee report says. Newtown Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia says she is working with State Representatives Dan Carter, Mitch Bolinsky, and the leadership of the state association of town clerks to craft state legislation:

On January 13, 2013, H.R. 226 was introduced in the House of Representatives by Connecticut Democrat Rep. Rosa DeLauro. The bill will amend the 1986 IRS code and allow a credit if taxpayers “surrender” their guns to the government.

Cited as the “Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Reduction for our Streets Act,” the proposed legislation represents another effort to convince citizens that they must voluntarily turn in their guns as a civic duty and to do their part to reduce “gun violence” and protect children, as Obama said yesterday.

The bill is yet more evidence that federal and state governments are now pulling out all stops short of door-to-door confiscation in their coordinated effort to disarm the American people.

Strikingly honest language included in the legislation specifies that the bill is part of the government’s “program to reduce the number of privately owned weapons,” in short, a program to disarm the American people.

The bill contains an exhaustive list of so-called “assault weapons” that will garner a $2,000 tax credit, including the much demonized Bushmaster AR-15 allegedly used in the Newtown Sandy Hook massacre.

The bill was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means on January 14, 2013.

American taxpayers must reject such cynical enticements and stand together and support the Second Amendment against all attacks by Obama and Congress.
